Garrett
Tannetje Crocker, DVM

Dr. Tannetje Crocker is the new owner of Alta Vista Animal Hospital. She is a 2009 graduate of Texas A&M Veterinary School. After graduation, she spent a year in California, completing a veterinary internship. She then returned to her hometown, Keller, Texas, to continue her veterinary career.

After graduation, Dr. Crocker specialized in equine medicine. After having her first child, she focused on small animal medicine in general practice and emergency clinics.

Dr. Crocker and her husband, Shane, have two children, Isabella and Corbin. Their four-legged children include; Ranger, a lab, and Mr. Bobby, the cat. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching sports, and barbecuing by the pool. She enjoys speaking and educating the public and fellow professionals about having a career in veterinary medicine.

Fun fact. Dr. Crocker is a graduate of Keller High School and is very excited to serve the community she grew up in.

Stephanie A, DVM

Dr. Hutchison cares for the needs of cats and dogs. Caring for your pets is Dr. Hutchison’s number one focus and passion, from vaccines to small animal surgeries. Before Dr. Hutchison became a doctor, she worked at Alta Vista as a Tech since high school. She attended Texas A&M for veterinary school and graduated in 1998. She came back to Alta Vista in 2005 and has been here since.

Dr. Hutchison has been married to her husband, Jimmy, for 12 years. She has a 4 yr old daughter named RuthAnn, who loves to come to work with her mom! If you ask her what she wants to be when she grows up, she’ll say she wants to be just like her mom and be a “doctor for animals.”

Dr.Hutchison has five dogs: Jane, Kate, Myrtle, Rosebud, and Steve. She has nine horses, a pony named Ruby, a donkey named Buford, and too many cows to count.

Meghan M, DVM

Dr. Meghan Mahanay is excited to be joining Alta Vista Animal Hospital!

She was raised in North Richland Hills and is a graduate of Richland High School. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science from Tarleton State University.  In 2010 she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from St. Georges University in Grenada, West Indies.  Her clinical year was spent at Texas A&M.  After receiving her DVM she returned to the DFW area to start her veterinary career and be closer to family.  Dr. Mahanay completed a small animal emergency internship in 2011.  She then spent four years at a local general practice before transitioning back to emergency veterinary medicine.  Alta Vista Animal Hospital has given Dr. Mahanay a great opportunity to return to general practice and allow her more time to get to know and care for the needs of her patients and clients.   

Dr. Mahanay is the proud mother of two incredible little boys. She has two cats Corbin and Olive, a lizard (Berber Skink) named Stubby, an aquarium full of fish, and hopes to add a Golden Retriever to the family soon.   She enjoys traveling, scuba diving, fishing, hiking, reading, and spending quality time with her family.

Jessica, Chief Technical Officer

Jessica is a lifelong animal lover and caregiver. She has been a leader in veterinary technical medicine, both in general practice and emergency medicine, for over 18 years and specializes in patient care, client education, and surgery & anesthesia. Before her veterinary medicine career, Jessica was devoted to helping others in the area of Equestrians with Disabilities. This is a passion that she still practices today, helping with leadership and production of multiple Equestrians with Disabilities horse shows every year. Jessica graduated from Oklahoma State University, and her spare time enjoys spending time with her husband and son, her three dogs (Two Australian Cattle Dogs and One Terrier Mix), and her horses. She loves the color orange and can never get enough of a good sunset.

Jimmy Don, Veterinary Technician

Jimmy Don started at Alta Vista Animal Hospital in October 2005.

He lives with his wife and two step-children, Brandon and Brooke. They have lots of sheep, four dogs, Piper, Bonnie, Cycle, and Bandit, and 3 Horses, Frosty, Bailey, and Cheyenne. His hobbies are team roping and DIY stuff.

Cassidi, Veterinary Technician
Cassidi has worked in large and small animal veterinary medicine for over three years. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Florida last spring with hopes of attending Veterinary school in the future. Cassidi previously worked in a large animal ICU clinic in Colorado before moving south and joining the Alta Vista team. In her free time, Cassidi enjoys hanging out with friends and family, exploring her new city, and going on adventures with her rescue dog Mila.

Aaron, Veterinary Technician
Aaron is a dedicated Veterinary Technician with over 21 years of experience in animal care. Holding a Bachelor’s in Wildlife Biology from Edison University and an RVT certification from Santa Fe College, [Your Name] has had the privilege of working with some of the most renowned conservation organizations, including the Audubon Society, Ding Darling Wildlife Society, World Wildlife Fund, and the Florida Conservancy.

Specializing in large carnivores, Aaron has worked at several zoos, contributing to the health and well-being of these incredible animals. Alongside his passion for veterinary care, Aaron is an avid soccer enthusiast who once aspired to go professional with the United States Soccer Academy. Playing overseas for 2 years, he made an appearance on the field in 6 countries.

A proud husband for 18 years and father to three amazing sons, Aaron balances his professional life with a strong commitment to family. His diverse career reflects his deep love for wildlife, conservation, and the well-being of animals.

Ashley, Veterinary Technician
Ashley is a skilled veterinary technician with 18 years of experience in animal care. After taking a short hiatus to focus on raising her daughter, Ashley returned to the field and currently works as a Client Service Representative (CSR), stepping in as a technician when needed. Throughout her career, she has developed expertise in both clinical and client-facing roles, always striving to deliver high-quality care for animals and build strong relationships with pet owners.

At home, Ashley is a devoted pet parent to 4 cats and a dog, and enjoys spending time with her husband, Josh, and their family. Outside of work, she enjoys gaming on Xbox, gardening, and spending quality time with her loved ones and pets.

Laura, Veterinary Nurse
Laura is an experienced veterinary nurse with over 10 years in the field, providing compassionate care and expertise to animals in need. With a deep passion for animal welfare, Laura has dedicated much of her career to improving the health and well-being of pets, particularly in rescue and rehabilitation settings. Laura earned her Certificate in Veterinary Assisting and an Associate’s Degree from Weatherford College in 2011. Her education has equipped her with a solid foundation in veterinary practices, animal care, and medical procedures.

Outside of her veterinary work, Laura is an avid oil painter and a dedicated reader with a keen interest in animal science. Laura is also a medical foster for the SPCA and other rescues in the DFW area. She also runs a sanctuary for unwanted coonhounds, known as the Coonhound Compound, where she gives these loyal dogs a chance to live their best lives in a loving, supportive environment.

Laura’s commitment to both her profession and her animal rescue work reflects her unwavering devotion to improving the lives of animals and the people who care for them.

Chloe, Veterinary Assistant
Chloe got her start in veterinary medicine as an intern at an equine sports medicine clinic. She is currently attending Texas A&M University, working towards a Bachelor’s in Vertebrate Zoology with a minor in Biology. After graduation, she plans to attend vet school and continue to help all animals, big and small. In her free time, Chloe enjoys riding horses, spending time with family, and taking her dog Lizzie to the lake.

Lory, Client Support Specialist

Lory started at Alta Vista Animal Hospital in September 2017.

I have been married for 45 years; we have four children and 13 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. I have 1 Siberian husky who is full of energy, and our babies. I now have a spunky kitten named Boo; she loves getting into things and table scraps! Yes, they are spoiled rotten. I love the mountains and, hiking, seeing wolves. I have been in the veterinary field for 20 years and love it.

My hobbies include fishing, biking, gardening, sewing, and caring for the grandkids. I love fires on cold evenings, and Christmas is my #1 holiday. I go crazy.

Taylor, Client Support Specialist
Taylor has had a passion for animals since the time she could talk. She always knew she wanted to have a job that focused on them. She couldn’t have pets growing up, so she took up pet sitting as a teenager and still does that in her free time. She lives with her husband and daughter, their dog Maggie, their giant cat Carl and their three sphynxes, Smeagol, Morticia, and Bellatrix.

Jazmine, Client Support Specialist
Hello, my name is Jazmine, or Jaz for short. I was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. I have worked in the pet industry for almost 15 years and am so excited to be a part of the AVAH family. My husband and I have three wonderful cats, Brodi, Shoresy, and Chiquita, as well as an adorable little terrier mix, Kiwi. In my free time, I enjoy being front row at live music events, attending Mavericks basketball games, as well as reading and photography. Can’t wait to meet you!

Garrett, Kennel Technician

Garret started working at Alta Vista Animal Hospital in September 2015.

He loves to travel with his family and loves being with animals. He has two dogs, Bella and Diezel, a cat named Napoleon, and a hedgehog named Stanley. His hobbies are participating in the Special Olympics, shopping, and movies.
